J.J. Abrams Returns With Max Original '70s Crime Thriller Series 'Duster'

J.J. Abrams is back with a new project with Max. Earlier this week, Max premiered the official teaser trailer for the filmmaker's newest original '70s crime thriller series titled Duster. The Josh Holloway-starring will have its eight-episode debut later this summer.The series follows Rachel Hilson's Nina who is the first Black female FBI agent in 1972 as she sets out to the Southwest and recruits Holloway's character -- a getaway driver. She enlists Holloway's character, Jim, in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate. The series sees Abrams reunite with Lost actor Holloway who stars alongside Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson. The series was first announced in 2021.The trailer opens to an introduction of Holloway and Hilson's characters. Nina says to Jim, "I was warned not to come see you, that you’re nothing but a loyal driver." The first two episodes are written by Abrams and LaToya Morgan, both creators of the series.
