John Fluevog's Latest Funky Shoes Come Straight Off a New York Runway

The newest iteration of John Fluevog's funky kicks are here, thanks to a collaboration with the footwear maker's longtime friend, Anna Sui. The new shoes were first revealed on the runway during New York Fashion Week, in Sui's Fall/Winter 2025 collection that channeled opulent maximalism of the twentieth century.

For the autumnal collection, the designer was inspired by heiresses and socialites like Peggy Guggenheim and Doris Duke, whose fortunes allowed them to don the finest furs, jewels, and fabrics money could buy. The show combined the glamour of the 1920s with the color palette of the 1960s, cohesively styled with Sui's signature coquettish charm. Whimsical footwear stood out during the fashion show, thanks to Fluevog and Sui. Both the Mini Sugarcandy and the Mini Lolly shoes shown on the catwalk are available to shop pre-order online starting today, just in time for springtime styling.

The Mini Sugarcandys (which are anything but miniature) boast a unique leopard print with screen-printed pony hair, in addition to suede and leather accents, topped off with rubber soles. The shoes are available for $1,029 in both Evergreen/Teal and Cinnamon/Magenta colorways. Both were smartly styled with russet brown blazers or purple corduroy pants on the Anna Sui runway. The Mini Lolly Contrast Buckles Shoes retail for $499 and are also made with leather, suede, and rubber like the Mini Sugarcandy.

Canadian shoe designer John Fluevog has been designing eye-catching, not-so-traditional footwear since the 1970s and has built up a cult following thanks to his unique design point-of-view. His heels, flats, and everything in between are all but minimalistic, which explains why artists like Chappell Roan, a champion of camp style, sported the Mini Sugarcandy heels at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she took home the award for "Best New Artist."
