Jennie Releases 'Ruby,' a Fiery and Bold Solo Album Debut
The K-pop star bares it all in a fearlessly empowering first studio album.

Blackpink's Jennie gifted music with the release of her solo debut, Ruby, on Friday. The highly anticipated 15-track record's release makes her the final member of powerhouse K-pop group Blackpink to debut a solo project amid their hiatus. The album is an incandescently daring insight into the Korean rapper/singer's life and her approach to crafting her sound and style.
Ruby serves as a reintroduction of her to the solo music scene following her successful 2018 hit Solo. The EDM-pop track catapulted her career as a solo artist to new heights as she became the first Korean female artist to top the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart and the Billboard World Digital Songs chart. The music alone reached over 100 million views 23 days after it premiered on YouTube and became the first music video by a female K-pop solo act to reach one billion views.
She's the it-girl for a reason, and her latest release is expected to reach similar heights. The album doesn't fit within one genre of music, it's experimental and a testament to Jennie's passion for making music without the restrictions of one genre. It's a genre-bending record with empowering lyrics, her aesthetic, that everyone can relate to while still being self-reflective and self-empowering.
Jennie's Ruby: The Tracklist
The album's tracklist includes "Intro: Jane" featuring Fkj, "Like Jennie," "Start a War," "Handlebars" (feat. Dua Lipa), "With the IE (way up)," "ExtraL" (feat. Doechii), "Mantra," "Love Hangover" (feat. Dominic Fike), "Zen," "Damn Right" (feat. Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis), " F.T.S," "Filter," "Seoul City," "Starlight," and "Twin." Jennie pulled out the big guns for this album, demonstrating her dedication to creating music that's all-encompassing and touches everyone.
Throughout the album's promotional tour, the "Like Jennie" singer has been candid about the struggles she faced in the creative process and wanting to make the album as authentic as possible. Her efforts weren't in vain, as her vulnerability is heard in "Twin," the last track of the album. This release gives Blinks (Blackpink fans) a closer look at Jennie in a way they've never seen before.
Jennie's Ruby: The Experience
To accompany the album's release, Jennie kicked off The Ruby Experience on March 6, in which she'll perform the album live at a select number of shows. The first stop on The Ruby Experience was the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for two nights, which will be followed by stops in New York's Radio City Music Hall and Seoul's Inspire Arena. She will also be performing as a solo artist at Coachella 2025 on April 13 and April 20.
Jennie's Ruby Tour
The fashion icon is set to reunite with Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo, as Blackpink recently announced that they would be embarking on a 10-city world tour in July 2025. In an interview with Billboard, Rosé revealed that fans can also expect new music from the girl group. Blinks are being fed in 2025, so it's safe to say they can say goodbye to that year-long waiting period for any news on Blackpink.
