“Mini” Pergola idea - is this doable?
I’m looking at blocking sightlines from my neighbors who have a pool and large umbrella right on the other side of the fence which causes my dogs to flip shit whenever they see it. Initial idea is a two post pergola with lattice work above the fence line similar to pic. The span I am looking to stretch is 15’ and at least 9.5' tall. I only have the ability to use 2 posts as there is a large boulder blocking the possibility of a center support. Assuming I use 6x6 posts and either sink down 4-5’ or use post anchors is this a doable span to put on 2 posts? Cantilever bracing? We get moderate wind here and some snow so I want to make sure it secure as possible. There is also an idea of eventually using the initial posts and expanding it to cover the entire area. Am I missing something? submitted by /u/devilfox62 [link] [comments]
