Mug Shelf Project

Hi Everyone, After a little bit of advice, thought and help please. I have a mug shelf - it’s a box type thing with - 5x5 grid of cubby holes to put the mugs in, solid wood, ply back approx 1/4” thick. I need to mount it on a plasterboard (drywall) wall. My ask is for ideas on the best way to fix it to the wall. I have drywall/plasterboard fixings to fix things like brackets etc but since there no fixings on the mug shelf to use I’m wondering the safest way. My initial thought is to fix a 2” x 1” piece of wood across the top and drill through that to provide a solid backbone. Or maybe just drill a hole in the ply back and use a washer to prevent the screw breaking the ply? Any ideas gratefully received! Paul submitted by /u/PDF70 [link] [comments]
