One of the biggest updates Phasmophobia has ever seen is arriving soon, and it promises to entirely rework everything we know about the game. If you want to jump into the Chronicle update as soon as possible, you need to know the precise release date and time for it. We don't see fresh Phasmophobia updates super often, so it's always an exciting time when new content is released. This is by far one of the most expansive updates we've had in a long time, as a new equipment item and evidence overhaul are sure to completely reshape how this game is played. There's a lot to look forward to, so here’s the exact time and date when the Phasmophobia Chronicle update will be released. An exact release time hasn't been shared yet, but similar to past updates and events, it will likely become available fairly early in the day. Based on the most recent updates and events that have launched, 7am CT/12pm UTC is the most likely time it will be released. The devs do sometimes run into delays when releasing fresh content, so there's a chance it may be released later than anticipated. It's also possible that a different launch time may be shared close to release, so if it is, we'll update our countdown here to reflect any changes. For now, we've set our countdown to precisely 7am CT so you can check back here leading up to release to see how much longer there is to wait before the update is available. We've also listed the launch time across major time zones if you're interested in learning the anticipated launch time for your region. This update includes the Sound Recorder, a journal overhaul, evidence rework, and much more. Here's a breakdown of all key update features. Sound Recorder – A new type of equipment that can be used to capture audio evidence. It has three Tiers, with each Tier becoming progressively better for investigations. You can use this powerful item to record audio in just about any situation, whether it be capturing Spirit Box responses or eerie ghost event sounds. Reworked evidence collection – Evidence is about to get a lot more rewarding and accurate. The labeling system will now properly identify what you've captured and reward you with the money you deserve. The first instance of evidence captured for any media is now considered unique, and grants lots of cash and XP at the end of the round. Journal overhaul – The photos tab is being replaced with a more general media tab to include the collection of audio and video evidence alongside basic photographs. Other changes – This update also has some smaller changes we don't know much about yet, including updated leveling and progression systems and a new main menu UI. It seems like the truck might be getting a makeover, too, since one of the key images that's been shared for this update has a new screen and various other mystery items on display. After this update is live, there are even more exciting additions beyond it we can look forward to with Horror 2.0, the biggest Phasmophobia update yet, finally in development, and the Grafton Farmhouse rework slated for release sometime before the end of 2025.
