Repairing Concrete Over Brick Porch
I’m looking for recommendations on how to properly repair my porch. I recently moved in, it appears it's a brick porch covered with concrete. The porch is made up of two sections: a rectangular platform near the house and a separate stair section. A few weeks ago, we had rain, snow, and freezing temperatures in quick succession, which led to expansion and caused some damage. I’ve cleaned everything, removing loose material. For the horizontal surface (steps and platform): What’s the best material to fill in the damaged areas? Should I use sand as a base and then apply a flexible sealant on top, or is there a better approach? For the vertical walls - Should I use something other than standard concrete, or just mix it thicker for better adhesion? Waterproof sealant on top? Any guidance would be appreciated! submitted by /u/gratitude1221 [link] [comments]
