Rocket League has announced that it will be adding universal team decals and goal explosions in what it calls the RLCS shop, inspired by the top esports organisations in the scene.

The reveal has been met with backlash online, with fans expressing frustration that certain organisations weren’t included as decals, such as Karmine Cop and The Ultimates (TU) Esports.

The decal announcement was made on April 23rd via X by the official Rocket League account, commenting that the team decals and goal explosions ‘will look nice’ on players’ vehicles.

The announcement wasn’t met with universal praise, however, as various users responded to voice their concerns over the relatively small number of teams featured.

In a post on X Incivik, former co-founder of the now-shuttered Rule One esports organisation, said: “It’s almost like you removed team goal explosions when we made Rule One, and brought it back after we closed.”

The past 24 hours before the reveal has seen several problems occur, including players reporting a series of outages and problems occurring in-game. In addition, despite fixes being issued by the developers, some players are reportedly still encountering issues with ddosers in matches.

In a response on X Evie ‘Slumpi,’ a Rocket League player and content creator, said: “W for making them usable on more cars. L for involving less organisations. L for lack of communication on ddosing.”

A blog post shared on the official Rocket League website goes into more detail surrounding the teams featured in the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Shop event. It also discusses other shop changes, such as the removal of Esports Tokens.

Here are all 12 esports organisations that will feature decals and goal explosions in the RLCS shop.

Several players have pointed out how some top teams were not included as featured decals or goal explosions. TU Esports, which placed second in the RLCS 2025 Birmingham Major, were not featured, much to the dismay of fans.

On X, one user said: “Wait, why isn’t TU decal in the new release? They’re in second place, they deserve to be there!”

Arguably, the bigger surprise is that Karmine Corp, the team that won the RLCS 2025 Birmingham Major, was also absent from the list, which came as a shock to the community.

The game’s failure to acknowledge some popular teams has been off-putting to some fans. Only time will tell if Epic Games will bring new additions in the future, or if fans will have to look for other means to express their support for their favourite teams that missed out this time around.
