So I found out today that fertilizer kills gnats like CRAZY. Story in comments
I live in the country and have to take my trash to convenience centers so sometimes I’ll have a few bags of trash in my garage before I go. Of course it attracts gnats, but it’s right by the door and gnat ribbons and home remedies work pretty well. Not necessarily the best though. Fertilized my lawn and had some extra and found out they LOVE fertilizer apparently. I barely have gnats at all now. Only ones are ones directly on the trash bags. I asked Grok about if it’s a solution I could do and it said yes but also I need to make a makeshift cover that allows them in but not out. I’ll have to see how that works. Maybe some fly ribbons inside the fertilizer? But at the same time Grok said it could possibly make for a nest for them. My thought though is if I cover it enough with a sticky surface it would really matter, right? This is just Grok though so maybe it’s right maybe it’s not. Another thing I thought of is something sticky that’s almost the size of the spreader but not completely. Something like those sticky pads. Anyway, thought I’d share because I just came up on this “solution” and found it insane! submitted by /u/FangFingersss [link] [comments]
