Bouncy stuff behind the wall, did I hit PEX water pipe?

New to DIY, living in Canada. I was drilling into a drywall today to hang something on drywall anchors. When drilling, I hit some resistance and the material seemed bouncy when I poked with an Allen wrench. The resistance seems to be at a depth of 2 to 3 inches, unable to determine exact depth. It seems to be going horizontally as I got similar resistance at 2 feet distance on the right. Question is could I have drilled into a PEX pipe and how to conclusively determine that I have not hit a water pipe. submitted by /u/Hidden-one-6754 [link] [comments]
