European esports organisation OG Esports has officially announced its entrance in the Honor of Kings (HoK) ecosystem as a Western Europe partner, establishing its first mobile team for 2025.

Through an announcement by OG Esports co-founder Johan ‘N0tail‘ Sundstein on OG’s official X page, the team will be competing in the Honor of Kings Major West League (KMW). That being said, the roster is yet to be announced and there is still little information on the KMW.

Based on what is dictated by the HoK official rulebook, the team must have at least four players who are resident in Europe, two of which from the team’s representing country. Only one import is allowed, with a minimum of five players and up to seven on the starting roster.

While details about the KMW are yet to be disclosed, the competition will allow a team to qualify through the Honor of Kings Major West League 2025 Spring Qualifier, which is taking place on March 16th.

The winners of the Open Series Western Europe and the Open Series Eastern Europe & Central Asia will face off to determine which team will take part in the upcoming HoK European competition, alongside OG Esports.

Honor of Kings Reveals $15m Esports Plan

Recently, Honor of Kings’ game publisher and Tencent’s subsidiary Level Infinite has announced the 2025 esports roadmap for the Honor of Kings ecosystem, announcing $15m (~£11.826m) investment plans to launch new leagues across six regions.

Aside from the KMW, the company will launch the Philippines Kings League (PKL), Malaysia Kings League (MKL), Wildcard Kings League (WKS), Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL), and Major East League (KME). The new six regional leagues will join the existing King Pro League in China (KPL) and Honor of Kings Brazil Championship (CHOKBR).

With the mobile game already announced as a game title for the Esports World Cup (EWC), the regional leagues will serve as qualification competitions for the tournament taking place in Riyadh, later this summer. The HoK EWC tournament featured an impressive $3 million (~£2.365m) prizepool in the 2024 edition.

Founded in 2015, OG Esports is a popular esports brand known for winning The International (TI) in 2018 and 2019. Aside from Dota 2, it currently fields lineups in Counter-Strike 2 and Rocket League. It previously held a roster in VALORANT but the team disbanded at the end of 2022. Earlier in January, the company appointed former CCO Daniel Sanders as its new CEO.
