Fashion creations by The Blonds are always possessed by a distinct allure and dazzling sartorial riot. Their runway shows are just as exciting, with high-energy track lists and front row guests cheering for the artfully seductive pieces. This was true as ever Saturday night at the Fall/Winter 2025 show, held downtown near the New York Stock Exchange, where designers David and Phillipe Blond revealed a seductively glittering catwalk full of feathers, vivaciously twinkling crystals, and naked dresses.
“I consider our work very timeless, and that's what makes it iconic. You can see one of our pieces from, maybe, 15 years ago, and it still looks amazing," Phillipe tells L'OFFICIEL backstage. Coincidentally, the show started as The Weeknd's "Timeless" played—they have been loving the new Hurry Up Tomorrow album—and Phillipe opened, dressed in a lusciously crystal-covered jacket with fishnet tights and thigh-high Christian Louboutin stiletto boots.
Music and movies are constant sources of inspiration for the two, and this season, they mixed "ideas of Blade Runner and Sunset Boulevard" to create their muse: a "model, showgirl, it-girl, or an actress, and she married a billionaire, took all his money, and now she's this rich bitch who goes everywhere" in bejeweled corsets, David says. Once more, music on the runway echoed the designs to a T during the final walk, when Bad Bunny's "Caro" (which translates to expensive) played.
In The Blonds' world, this season's "global glamazon" wears see-through lace dresses with her bangs still pinned in a roller, complete with a set of blinged-out claws. (Nails, done by CND artists, were unmissable on the runway.) In addition to classic gem corsets in this collection, the designers reveal a moulded fur one, too, with a hat to match. The new looks are as fabulous as ever, and they have to be. After all, The Blonds have dressed divas and pop stars (like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, Tate McRae) for decades, and they've got a busy calendar ahead.
