Basement Self Leveler Prep

Went to begin installing dricor subfloor in basement and noticed the floor was more out of level than expected. Instead of muscling through, I figured I'd pause and use self leveling conrete/underlayment first. However, the floor in this area is painted from when we had asbestos abated a few years prior. So, I don't really want to grind off the paint because it will throw asbestos into the air, but seems like a bad idea to use self leveler over the paint. Feeling a bit stuck, but know I can't be the first person with this issue. Appreciate the advice. submitted by /u/tars9 [link] [comments]
