TL;DR
- Disclaimer: This article combines confirmed details with industry speculation. We’ll update it regularly as new info or leaks emerge.
- The title could be released around November 2025, and we should see Battlefield 6 before March 31, 2026.
- Battlefield 6 playtests may provide new, as-yet-unseen details and information.
- BF6 is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
- No pricing information is available, but a $69.99 base price seems likely.
- Aside from questionable Battlefield 6 leaks, no new footage has surfaced.
The Battlefield 6 release date is more than a point of intrigue. For old-school BF fans like your writer, the snippets of gameplay spotted so far stir a potent nostalgia for a time in Battlefield’s past. A time before whatever the last one was called (I‘m joking, 2042), before Battlefield V, 1, and Hardline, back to the sheer fun of rushing objectives and joy delivered in the BC2 and BF3/4. Of course, unbreakable nostalgia isn’t a good thing, but it does seem that BF6 could be somewhat of a rebirth.
The nature of game series development and the weight of expectation being hard to shift isn’t unique to Battlefield, but that’s another discussion. We can say that the available Battlefield 6 gameplay footage, and the hope of a renewal stemming from it, is a cause for optimism. So, as we cover all the key information for the new title below, know that we’re fully looking forward to…not just a return to form, but a new and improved Battlefield.
When could Battlefield 6 be released?
Expected no later than March 2026; exact release window and date: TBA
Despite a recent EA earnings call stating “Skate and Battlefield 6” will be releasing “in FY [fiscal year] 2026”, there’s nothing to confirm a Battlefield 6 release date. However, there are a few clues to consider for some educated speculation on our part.
For EA, FY 2026 runs from April 2025 to March 2026. So the earnings call confirms that BF6 is scheduled for a release before the end of March 2026. That leaves us with an ever-reducing window to peek at, but it would be remiss to ignore the last entry in the Battlefield series.
As 2042 was released in November and November is a prime time for triple-A games, we have a starting point to consider. Yes, older BF games have indeed had various release months (from July to December), but a Battlefield 6 release window of October/November 2025 makes most sense to us. That’s because buying intent grows before Black Friday, and an early 2026 release simply has no precedent.

Expected Battlefield 6 price & pre-orders
Expected to cost $70 at launch; exact pricing and pre-order availability are not yet live
As with the release date, Battlefield 6 pre-orders and price information aren’t available as we write. That information will likely arrive as a collective press release unless specific Battlefield 6 leaks spill the beans beforehand.
In the meantime, it may be best to consider Battlefield 2042’s details to pencil in these gaps. BF 2042 has an MSRP of $69.99 on Microsoft’s Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store. That amount is now a fairly standard base price for a triple-A game, so it would make sense that the Battlefield 6 PS5 and Battlefield 6 Xbox prices follow suit.
Adding to the above and worth consideration are 2042’s ‘Elite Editions’ for $99.99. Battlefield 6 pre-orders may offer such options with some added content for the price. But as yet, this is all unknown. That means the Battlefield 6 price could start at $70 and then scale up to $100 (or beyond) depending on the different editions, but things could differ between PC and console.
It’s worth pointing out that Battlefield 2042’s price for the PC version was $59.99, while the Elite version was $79.99. Recent triple-A games have unified title prices across platforms, so we’re not expecting a repeat of cheaper PC access.
Expected Battlefield 6 platforms & availability
Anticipated for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, going by the playtests
Although we know Battlefield 6 exists, there hasn’t been much official news…until the confirmation of what’s being referred to as a Battlefield 6 playtest. The playtest, more officially known as a ‘Battlefield Labs’ test, is significant because it would appear to provide Battlefield 6 platform information.
Given that access to the test is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S testers, it’s easy to assume that these are the confirmed Battlefield 6 platforms. To be clear, this abrupt test isn’t being called a Battlefield 6 beta, so there is the possibility that another such test will emerge.
Latest Battlefield 6 news & details
The game is experiencing leaks on Reddit, but official sources are thin on the ground
While the 72-hour May playtest may provide additional Battlefield 6 news, there’s still not a lot of information available to piece together. However, one piece of YouTube footage is worth checking out beyond what we’ve covered above. It’s not titled as a Battlefield 6 trailer, but it’s the closest we have to it.
The Battlefield Labs video, published on February 3, 2025, gives an insight into the approach for the next generation of Battlefield games. Perhaps more importantly for Battlefield 6 gameplay, the last 22 seconds of the video provide what appears to be new Battlefield gameplay footage.
This chaotic, rubble-strewn blast of action is immediately immersive, delivering a rush of activity and combat as soldiers engage in fast-moving street and urban warfare with explosive results. Months have passed, and the footage hasn’t been followed up with further video. At this point, whatever Battlefield 6 news emerges next should be significant.
Initially, supposed leaked Battlefield 6 gameplay footage was making the rounds on the Battlefield subreddit, but “Reddit’s Legal Operations Team” has scrubbed most of these clips (if not all by now). PC Gamer highlighted a total of 12 different threads allegedly showcasing things such as a heat-seeking rocket taking down a helicopter, explosions, a LAV, RPGs in action, a weapon select screen, dolphin diving, and more. This means we could be closer to seeing official gameplay and receiving details than initially thought, which is a good sign, as all the BF6 playtests are being conducted under strict NDA.

Expected Battlefield 6 system requirements
The system requirements are expected to be moderate; exact requirements: TBA
For PC BF fans, the Battlefield 6 system requirements are another part of the puzzle we don’t yet have official information on. However, while there’s no official word for Battlefield 6, the Battlefield Labs requirements are perhaps a decent indication.
Found in the FAQ section of the Battlefield Labs section of EA.com, the minimum requirements for Battlefield Labs are stated as being an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB graphics card, with 16GB of memory, and a minimum of 30GB storage space.
Meanwhile, the recommended specifications are listed as an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, Nvidia RTX 3060Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT graphics card, and (again) 16GB of memory, and 30GB of storage space. While these details may change, these are the best we have for Battlefield 6’s system requirements so far.
Conclusion
Like you and many other Battlefield fans, we can’t wait for the Battlefield 6 release date to be confirmed, alongside the key information around the launch. While the title is due before March 31, 2025, we think (and hope) we’ll see it a bit before then, with a fair amount of gameplay footage ahead of time.
