Drilling holes in the same spot I just drilled out too large of a hole
My wife asked me to hang curtain rods throughout our new house (it’s a rental) and I drilled a hole, saw that it needed to come down a bit and redrilled, but then she questioned why I didn’t use the anchor… so I reluctantly took the screw out, knew the anchor was too close to the previous hole but tried it anyway. Now I have a large hole where I need this part to mount and am searching for a solution to fix it. I have drywall putty and all that but I know that if I’m drilling right back into that same spot it won’t be enough to hold it. I ordered some dowels to try that method but all the dowel solution videos are in wood, not in a drywall/painted wall setting. I also ordered some toggle bolts as a solution. However, not sure that’s the best long term fix. Am I screwed and just need to do an entirely new drywall patch in that spot and start over? submitted by /u/Hairy_Nebula_5505 [link] [comments]
