Fixing this gangway that is pools water, and ends up seeping into the basement?
This gangway of our home has had attempts (spray foam lol) at fixing the situation over the years, but in winter this becomes an ice skating rink - and the freeze and thaw is cracking apart the concrete and the attempted repairs. The building is from 1880 and thankfully the basement doesn’t flood, but it’s definitely a problem with the amount of water that ends up here. This pipe also sticks out about 2 inches and I’m not sure if it’s meant to be a drain. Obviously it’s a grading issue and I expect the concrete will need to be torn out and repoured? I’m not expecting this to be a totally DIY job but any guidance for what to ask for a contractor- or experience is appreciated. Thx! submitted by /u/kettleofhawks [link] [comments]
