What is this wall made of?
(i would have posted in r/homeimprovement but they don’t allow photos so mods i apologize if this content doesn’t fit the sub) Title. I just purchased a home (built 1950) and I want to run Cat6 for my security cameras as well as patch some holes in the walls. I am unsure if this wall is drywall with some kind of plaster/texture over top or if it is veneer plaster + blueboard. One portion of the wall has this texture while another wall in the same room has a smooth texture. This portion of the home was remodeled and added on at some point so I don’t believe it’s plaster + rock lath. I am first time buyer and do not know a whole lot about walls or how to identify what I’m looking at, but I’m handy and willing to do as much work on my own as I can. As far as fixing the wall goes, are there different materials that need to be used with different kinds of walls? I appreciate any tips/tricks/advice! I’m looking forward to embracing this portion of homeownership (even if it will be a pain in the behind
