How to hang cabinets on strapping with stone masonry walls?
We are in the process of renovating our kitchen. The walls are structural masonry with 1 1/2 inch strapping that was used to hang the drywall, but it's a 1 inch wooden board and a half inch of particle board behind it (you can see the split in picture 2). We pulled the drywall to add new GFCI outlets and will rehang drywall once our electrician connects those lines. How should we go about securing the base cabinets to the wall? I searched on the sub and folks have said that 1 1/2 inch strapping is enough, but I'm concerned with the particle board. Should we use masonry screws/fasteners and drill through the strapping and into the brick? Any help or advice would be very appreciated! submitted by /u/More-Squirrel-9905 [link] [comments]
